A new monthly film club at Frank's Bar, organized by Zahra Khosroshahi, designed to introduce you to some fantastic films and inspire conversation.
This month's film is 'About Elly' by Asghar Farhadi. The mysterious disappearance of a kindergarten teacher during a picnic in the north of Iran is followed by a series of misadventures for her fellow travelers.
World-renowned filmmakers such as the late Abbas Kiarostami (1940-2016), along with other contemporary names such as Asghar Farhadi, Jafar Panahi and Rakhshan Banietemad have contributed to a cinema that is celebrated nationally and internationally. Films have the power to transport us, to take us to places we’ve never been, exposing us to stories we’ve never heard. When we live in a world that fears the unknown, we must come together to share these stories and to break boundaries. The goal of this film club is to get together to watch good Iranian films. So come along and be part of these important conversations.
